I know nearly zilch about video editing. I spend so much time doing still graphics and prepress work that I haven't dabbled in it at all.

Now, however, I have a reason to. My family took its first-ever vacation to attend my younger sister's wedding - it was an expensive trip and we had a wonderful time...and took several short video clips and about 400 digital photos. I would like to tinker with a program that's easy to use that will help me put the experience on DVD to share with the grandparents and the just married couple.

Recommendations, please? Thanks!

After digging around some this weekend, I've answered my own question on this. I downloaded the trial version of ProShow Gold from Photodex (http://www.photodex.com) and I just LOVE it. It does exactly what I need it to. I'm buyin' it. It blends still pics and videos and audio and has several choices for effects and transitions and sound fades - and it's really easy to use!
