Does anyone know what the cost compairison is for using a disposible or just buying a digital camera? My daughter is wanting one for her trip and I will not let her take mine. I will either be buying her a new one or one of the disposible ones.

If it were me I think I would feel safer buying a disposeable camera. They aren't all that expensive, usually only $12-$15. Some of the newer ones take great pics and have digital features too. I have kids and I know how "accidents" tend to be common on these field trips. I would hate for your digital camera to accidently get lost.

I think it would be best to buy her a disposable camera for her to use. However, if you think you can trust your daughter that she would take good care of a new camera, a new digital camera would also be a good idea. Somehow, she can use the new digital camera as often as she likes for as long as she wants.

It depends upon how well your daughter uses and values the camera. I guess buying her a disposable one will help her to handle the original digital camera in the near future.

disposable cameras are alright for basic applications. and they are inexpensive. 

I would buy a disposable camera as well- Try her out. If she doesn't need it often- this is the way to go. I wouldn't buy a real digital camera and let her take it on her own the first time.

For me disposable camera are no no. They can't give you the quality which you will get from the good non disposable camera. Disposable camera are good for basic application only.
