Does anyone out there have any recommendations on books for those looking to learn more about talking pictures with their DSLRs?  I have gone to Amazon.com and there are a lot of books with decent ratings, but does anyone here have an opinion.  I am just looking to narrow down the list of books down.

Have not bought it but scanned it in a store.. it does what it says, like most of the books in the 'dummies' line.

Digital photography by Scott Kelby (for general photography tips)

I'm reading it right now! (i'm beginner)

It's very easy to read, has a picture per page, and is extremely conversational and not terribly technical. basically he takes you on a "shoot" with him and sort of tells you the settings you should use
It's kind of funny too, he likes to tell jokes. it's not too high on $$ now either!

Another good basic reference book by Mike Miller is [b]Photo.pedia[/b] it was published in 2008 so is current and is listed as "the ultimate digital photography resource". It has lots of detailed informative topics. You might find it useful.
