Most camcorders use LCD display technique. My sony model has also the same facility. It works better most of the time. But while shooting in bright sunlight, the display is not so clear to view.Has any new model introduced new technology for resolving this problem ?

kkrish, I have the same problem with my new digital camera. I went out to take some shots the other day at a farm and couldn't see a thing on the display! For some reason I'd assumed they'd all have both a normal viewfinder and LCD display but this one doesn't. I was advised to turn the brightness setting up high to try alleviate the problem on sunny days but am yet to test that out.

Also, you can buy a nylon shade that looks like a small box to reduce the glare for camcorders. Hoodman does one that fits over the screen with just a couple of detachable straps. The price ranges from between sixteen and twenty five dollars depending on the size you need to fit your LCD screen. Look for the H-200, 300 or 400 series.

Perhaps one of these would fit your camcorder and save the expense of buying a new one? As far as new technology goes, I don't know of any myself that have come up with that but maybe this would help you in the meantime.

I have that same problem sometimes with my Canon, so I think it is just one of those things that seems to happen. If it can be fixed I would also like to know how.
