My pink horse illustration got rejected because it looked too much like a my little pony. I did watch to my little pony pictures when making this illustration, but I used them to make sure to make them different !!!

See here:

My little pony:

I don't see one part that's the same!
Hair (not one MLP has this kind of hair), ears, legs, eyes... I don't see it!
Please tell me what body part is the same as a MLP?

Hmm you're right they are not exactly the same, primarily the difference I see is that the toys from hasbro don't seem to have hooves (maybe to make them seem less dangerous?).

My sister had these toys when we were young, and even though looking at the actual products there are some differences, my first impression of your illustration was that it was a depiction of one of these products.

We'll give this submission another chance, I think the differences you pointed out would be enough to avoid trademark problems.

ok, thanks !! :D

Everyone I showed this picture said "my little pony!!!" , but that's just what everyone thinks of when they see a cute horse illustration. I think that people only remembered that my little ponies are cute little horses, not how they exactly looked.

And I think they didn't made hooves to keep it more simple. To draw, but also because children like simple drawings. :)

No problem. We sometimes just don't have the resources to give every submitted file as much research as is humanly possible, sometimes we just say 'no' based on a gut feeling..   and if the artist disagrees, well, then they can bring it up here like you have and get a second opinion.. ! :P
